Apostille Service Singapore is an apostille service in Singapore for people and companies who need a Singapore document accepted overseas. Whether you are a citizen, PR, Employment Pass holder or a company director, we take care of the whole chain: checking what your destination asks for, arranging a notary public, obtaining the SAL apostille and, where needed, embassy legalisation. You do not have to queue at 1 Coleman Street or work out the forms yourself.

We are a private service provider and are not affiliated with the Singapore Academy of Law. Our job is to make the official route faster and less confusing, and to catch the mistakes that get documents turned away at the counter.

What we apostille for Singapore residents and companies

Most requests fall into two groups, and the group decides the route and the cost.

Personal documents

Business documents

  • Company documents such as ACRA Business Profiles, certificates of incorporation, constitutions and board resolutions
  • Commercial documents, such as invoices, endorsed by a Singapore chamber of commerce
  • Documents for setting up an overseas company or branch

Help by life event

Documents issued by a Singapore public body, such as ICA, ROM, a court, a ministry or an autonomous university or polytechnic, are public documents. SAL can apostille the original directly. Anything signed privately, or a photocopy you supply, needs a notary public to certify or witness it first. Our guide to public vs private documents explains the difference in more detail.

How our Singapore apostille service works in 4 steps

  1. 1Tell us the document and the country. Send a photo or scan by WhatsApp or email. Not sure what you need? We will tell you when we reply.
  2. 2Get a fixed quote. Within 30 minutes during opening hours, we confirm the route (direct SAL, notary plus SAL, or SAL plus embassy), the government fees and our service charge before any work starts.
  3. 3Hand over the document. Drop it at our Suntec office, or book a collection. If a signature must be witnessed, we arrange the notary public at our office or at yours.
  4. 4Collect or receive it back. We submit it at SAL, handle any embassy stage and return the finished document to you in person or by courier to your Singapore address.

If you want to do it yourself instead, our step-by-step guide on how to apostille a document covers SAL's online request and counter visit.

Apostille or embassy legalisation: what your destination needs

Singapore joined the Hague Apostille Convention with effect from 16 September 2021. SAL now attaches an apostille to every document it authenticates, whatever the destination.

  • Hague member countries accept the SAL apostille on its own. Since 7 November 2023, documents for China no longer need Chinese Embassy legalisation.
  • Non-Hague countries need a further stamp from their embassy or high commission in Singapore after SAL. This is embassy legalisation.

  • Changing countries: Vietnam's membership took effect on 11 September 2026. Thailand joins on 28 February 2027, so until then documents for Thailand still need Royal Thai Embassy legalisation.

The full list is on our apostille countries list, and the terms are explained in apostille vs legalisation vs attestation. Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is no longer part of this chain; SAL took over legalisation in January 2021.

From a real Singapore enquiry

A Singapore company preparing documents for a Thai Destination Thailand Visa asked whether an apostille alone would do. Not yet: until 28 February 2027 the order is notary, then SAL, then the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore.

Visit us at Suntec or we come to you

Our office is at 7 Temasek Boulevard, #12-07 Suntec Tower One, Singapore 038987. It is a short walk from Esplanade MRT (Exit A) and Promenade MRT (Exit C), or through CityLink Mall from City Hall MRT. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm. You can visit and drop off your document during opening hours. If you need a signature witnessed, we arrange a notary public for the same visit where possible.

If coming in is hard, our doorstep apostille service collects documents from homes, offices, hotels and hospitals across Singapore, and brings a notary where a signature is needed. Businesses with regular volumes can use our corporate apostille service for accounts and monthly invoicing. For deadlines, see our same-day apostille service.

Why clients in Singapore choose Apostille Service Singapore

  • One point of contact for the whole chain. Notary, SAL and embassy are three different offices with different hours and rules. We coordinate all of them.
  • Checks before submission. SAL rejects laminated originals, faded or altered documents, broken QR codes and non-English documents that are not bilingual. SAL fees are non-refundable, so we check first.
  • Correct route, not the most expensive one. Many public documents do not need a notary at all. We only add a notary step when your document or the receiving authority requires it.
  • Proof-reading for translations. A wrong surname on a notarised translation means starting again. We check names and dates against your passport before anything is notarised.
  • Digital documents understood. We handle printed digital birth and marriage certificates with working QR codes, and e-Apostilles for ACRA documents, which SAL issues by email within minutes.
  • Honest advice. The receiving authority always decides what it accepts, so we recommend confirming its requirements before you order.

Costly mistakes we prevent

Get it right the first time

Most delays come from small problems spotted too late. We check every document before it reaches a notary, SAL or an embassy.

Paying SAL twice

SAL fees are non-refundable. If a document is rejected at the counter, you pay again.

Laminated or faded originals

SAL turns away laminated, altered or faded documents and broken QR codes.

A misspelt name

One wrong letter on a notarised translation means redoing the whole set.

Skipping the embassy step

Non-Hague countries such as the UAE and Malaysia do not accept an apostille on its own.

Questions we are asked

Apostille service Singapore FAQs

Are you the Singapore Academy of Law?

No. We are a private company that helps you get documents apostilled by the Singapore Academy of Law. SAL is the only authority in Singapore that issues apostilles, and it takes no instructions by phone or email. We prepare your documents, arrange a notary where needed, attend SAL's counter on your behalf and follow up with any embassy stage.

Do I need to go to SAL myself?

No. SAL accepts documents from a proxy without an authorisation letter, so we can attend the counter at The Adelphi for you. The exception is when SAL's online verification needs your own Singpass or email. You only need to appear in person if you are signing a private document before the notary public.

Which documents can you apostille?

We can help with any document SAL will authenticate. That includes ICA birth and death certificates, ROM marriage certificates, court papers, university and polytechnic certificates, Police Certificates of Clearance, ACRA company documents, and private documents such as powers of attorney, declarations and passport copies once a notary public has certified them.

Do you serve customers outside Singapore?

We serve clients who live or operate in Singapore. You or your representative need to be able to hand us the document here, and any signature must be witnessed by a notary in Singapore. We return completed documents in person or by courier to an address in Singapore, which you can then forward on yourself.

How do I start an apostille request?

Send us a photo of the document and tell us the destination country by WhatsApp on +65 3129 4104 or through our contact form. During opening hours we reply within 30 minutes with the route, the time needed and a fixed quote. You can also send your details through our online quote form.
